Fascia sign for Non Solo Bar in Gamla stan

In the heart of Stockholm, at Slussplan 5 in Gamla stan, Non Solo Bar has recently opened its doors. With a fantastic location adjacent to the new area around Slussen and Mälarterrassen, the restaurant has quickly become an exciting addition to the city's dining scene.

Non Solo Bar describes itself as a communal living room. A place filled with warmth, security, and community where guests are welcome from morning to evening. Whether popping in for a quick espresso, a freshly baked pizza from the stone oven, a long lunch, or simply a pleasant conversation.

When it was time to develop the new fascia signage, we at PS Skylt & Inredning were entrusted with the task. For us, it is always particularly enjoyable to work with businesses where the identity and atmosphere are so clearly defined from the outset.

The goal was to create a sign that would both suit the historic environment of Gamla stan and simultaneously give the restaurant a modern and lively presence on the street. The signage needed to be visible and inviting without overpowering the building's character.

The solution was a variant of Profile P2 where the letters were made with rounded, illuminated acrylic instead of traditional neon. This provides the same soft and vibrant expression that many associate with classic neon signs, but with several modern advantages.

The rounded acrylic creates a pleasant light pattern and elegant depth in the letters, while the construction is significantly more durable and requires less maintenance than traditional neon. The result is a sign that feels both timeless and modern at the same time.

When darkness falls over Gamla stan, the sign's warm light emerges in a way that enhances the welcoming feeling and helps the restaurant take its place in the vibrant urban environment around Slussen.
