Signage for Willow Hotel

In the heart of Trelleborg, Willow Hotel has opened its doors, creating a destination that offers significantly more than just a hotel room. Here, design, gastronomy, and relaxation meet in a well-thought-out overall experience where every detail has its place.

High above the city lies Noory Spa & Pool Club with a view of the sea. Here, heated outdoor pools, an indoor pool, sauna, generous daybeds, and an inviting fireplace come together in an environment where tranquillity and social togetherness meet. Adjacent to the hotel are also the restaurants Meadow Brasserie, Tapacha! Rooftop Bar, and O'Learys, making the hotel a natural meeting place for both hotel guests and locals.

We were given the honourable task of developing the signage for both the hotel's exterior and interior. This type of project is particularly close to our hearts as it provides an opportunity to create a cohesive experience where design, function, and identity go hand in hand throughout the entire property.

When working with a hotel of this calibre, details are crucial. Material choices, design, placements, and schedules must interact for the final result to live up to the vision. It is in such projects that our project managers, constructors, and designers truly get to utilise their combined experience and creativity.

The exterior signage consists of two larger facade signs placed high up on the building, as well as an entrance sign that welcomes guests upon arrival.

The signs are manufactured as a specially adapted version of Profil 2, where the raised frame encloses the logo and enhances its expression. To create a more exclusive and sophisticated impression, rounded acrylic fronts were chosen, which give the letters a soft, three-dimensional depth while diffusing the light in a pleasant and elegant way.

All signs are front-lit and mounted with concealed fixings and a slight distance from the facade. This creates a discreet shadow effect and a floating expression, making the signs appear as a natural part of the building's architecture. The result is equally effective in daylight as it is in the evening when the signs illuminate the hotel facade.

Internally, the project involved a complete wayfinding system that helps guests navigate through the hotel's various environments.

The system consists of everything from lift signs and room numbers to directional signs in both illuminated and non-illuminated versions. Behind each sign is extensive work where flows are mapped, decision points identified, and solutions designed to create an intuitive experience for the guest.

The materials have been chosen with great care to harmonise with the hotel's interior concept and enhance the exclusive feel. A large part of the signage is made of brass combined with powder-coated surfaces in the hotel's profile colours. This combination creates an elegant and timeless aesthetic that runs as a common thread throughout the entire establishment.

Willow Hotel is one of those projects where we really had the opportunity to work with the whole picture. Being responsible for both the exterior and interior signage creates the conditions for a consistent expression where every detail contributes to the same story.

The result is a signage environment that strengthens the hotel's identity, guides guests through the building, and contributes to the premium feel that Willow Hotel wants to convey.
