Dömle Herrgård

In the heart of Värmland's nature, beautifully situated by Lake Smårissjön, lies Dömle Herrgård Spa & Resort. Here, history, nature, and experiences meet in an environment where guests can come for conferences, weddings, spa treatments, golf, or simply to enjoy good food and a few relaxing days.

Dömle Herrgård is a place where the whole is central. The scenic surroundings, the manor's history, and the many opportunities for activities and community create a destination for both large and small occasions.

When the need for more capacity for larger groups and events arose, we were given the enjoyable task of developing a completely new area for the manor's guests.

The project comprised a large glazed pergola system measuring approximately 27 x 10 metres. This new area enables Dömle Herrgård to accommodate larger groups and host everything from weddings and dinners to conferences and other types of events.

The pergola is of the Vision model, an exclusive pergola with a stylish design and an openable louvered roof. The louvres can be angled up to 140 degrees, making it possible to control both sunlight and shade while maintaining natural light ingress.

Vision is developed to function all year round and is constructed to withstand large amounts of snow. This means that the new area can be used for significantly larger parts of the year and provides guests with protection against sun, rain, and snow.

To further weather-proof the pergola, the long side and gables were clad with electric vertical glass panels. The glass sections provide effective protection against wind and weather, while maintaining an open and airy feel.

When the glass panels are lowered, a large and free opening is created, making the area still feel like part of the surrounding nature. If necessary, the glass panels can be quickly closed to create a more sheltered outdoor room.

The system can also be automated and is equipped with a locking system that provides a high level of security. The combination of function, easy handling, and a modern expression makes the vertical glass panels a natural complement to the pergola.

A project of this size is about significantly more than just the pergola itself. To create a well-functioning environment, furnishing, flows, and various types of seating arrangements also need to be carefully planned.

Our design department has therefore worked closely with Dömle Herrgård's interior designers and developed furnishing plans for various types of arrangements and groups. In this way, the new area could be planned based on how it will actually be used, from large celebratory dinners and weddings to more intimate gatherings.

It is precisely the combination of architecture, function, and thoughtful design that makes a new area truly come into its own.

With the new pergola, Dömle Herrgård has gained a flexible and weather-protected environment that opens up even more possibilities. The large area creates opportunities for larger events, while the glass sections and the openable louvered roof make it possible to adapt the environment to both the weather and the group.
